Sebastian Gunawan is
currently one of Indonesia’s biggest haute
couture designers,he has
been running his own fashion label in Jakarta since 1993. Sebastian discovered
his passion for fashion illustration as a child, credited to his mother’s
natural flair.
His hobby in sketching led him to
attending a design course in Jakarta and then honed his skills in Los Angeles.
‘A Life Portrait’ was his debut on the catwalk in 1995. His career was kicked
off as a “dramatic evening and ball gown” designer.
Sebastian Gunawan had
achieved several awards since 1993 to 2007. His first award was the prestigious
“International Apparel Federation World Young Designer Award 2004”, in
Barcelona. He has been also constantly awarded in Indonesia, among those he
achieved the “Designer Favourite
Award” from Dewi
Magazine.
